Utkal Karate School launches women’s gym

Bhubaneswar-based leading power-sports training center, Utkal Karate School made two more notable additions to its range of facilities by launching a hi-tech gymnasium exclusively for women and an aerobic centre today. The gymnasium, having a floor area of 600 suare feet, is equipped with wide-ranging fitness gadgets and accessories. ‘‘Though city women are equally keen to stay fit, they had no place for exclusive training. This gym is sure to provide them the best of facilities,’’ claimed school founder Hari Prasad Pattanaik. The aerobic centre with a floor area of 1,800 square feet offers training facility for yoga as well. Both the units will remain open from 6.00 am to 9.00 pm. Experienced lady coaches and instructors have been appointed to guide as many as 75 fitness enthusiasts in both the centres at time. ‘‘A sports library and a physiotherapy centre will be added in the near future,’’ announced Pattanaik. The school earlier possessed a common gymnasium, a weight training hall, karate training arena and an open stage for different competitions. The women’s gymnasium and the aerobic centre were inaugurated by social activist Rutuparna Mohanty in the presence of many outstanding sportspersons of the state.
